ShowPlex Cinemas Goes 100% Digital in Hays, KS

OVERLAND PARK, KS – (April 18th, 2012) – ShowPlex Cinemas is pleased to announce a state-of-the-art technology upgrade at the Mall 8 Theatre in Hays, KS. Overland Park, KS based ShowPlex Cinemas will complete the theatre’s transition from 35 mm film projection to 100% digital cinema projection and upgraded sound across all eight screens this week, as well as the installation of improved theatre seating and flooring in the four largest auditoriums.

The benefits of digital cinema for the Hays movie-goer include improved picture quality and the ability to show a variety of 3D movies and alternative programming such as concerts and live sporting events. The Mall 8 Theatre digital conversion will feature the latest in digital cinema technology, including Barco digital projectors, GDC digital cinema servers and upgrade to 5.1 sound.
